Rising star Jarvis excited about “future stars” of SAGDB
Casey Jarvis is a rising star of South African golf who has enjoyed a dream debut in the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship in 2022. And the young professional is equally excited about the “future stars” to come from his country thanks to the work of the South African Golf Development Board (SAGDB), which is a beneficiary of the Alfred Dunhill Links Foundation.
“We have a lot of underprivileged kids in South Africa that don’t have the privileges we do, and the SAGDB has helped what I call these future stars. I’m sure in the near future we’ll see a lot of stars coming from that SAGDB group,” Jarvis said in St Andrews.
The SAGDB has since 1999 been using golf and the positive values of the game to create opportunities for underprivileged children. Jarvis certainly appreciates the value of opportunity, having come through the ranks of GolfRSA’s elite amateur programme.
“I wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for the support given to me by GolfRSA who gave me great exposure to play internationally when I was still an amateur.”
